ABOUT ME
My name is Jodie, and I'm a passionate marine mammal and wildlife photographer based on the Mid North Coast of NSW, Australia.
As you can probably tell from my photography, I have a particular interest in whales and dolphins.
My passion for cetaceans (whales, dolphins and porpoises) and the ocean goes all the way back to my childhood. One of my earliest memories of how it all began was after watching the movie Free Willy. From that moment onwards, there was nothing I loved more than killer whales (orcas)!
Growing up, I spent a lot of my free time creating artwork featuring orcas, whales and dolphins, as well as reading countless books to learn more about the different species, their behaviour and the diversity of cetaceans found throughout the world's oceans.
My interest in marine mammal photography originally developed from my passion for whales and dolphins. I always enjoyed reading books about cetaceans and looking at the photographs published in them. Eventually, I came to the realisation that I wanted to take my own photographs of these magnificent creatures in the wild.
This inspired me to purchase my very first DSLR camera in 2012, and from there I began regularly heading out on whale watching cruises in Port Macquarie, NSW, to capture my own photographs of whales and dolphins.
What started as a childhood fascination has continued into adulthood, and today my passion for cetaceans still lives on through my photography. Being able to photograph these animals in their natural environment and share those experiences with others is something I really enjoy.
Thank you for taking the time to check out my website. I hope you've enjoyed viewing my photography as much as I've enjoyed capturing the amazing moments these magnificent creatures have to offer in the wild.
